Hello I had one of my worst experiences ever this evening at the King Hussein Cancer center, I went there to donate blood platelets.. Boy, it was really painful because my blood pressure was low at the time and they had to tighten that ribbon firmly all the time!! It took them 2 hours to get finished with me and they gave me orange juice to drink 6 times in order to increase my blood pressure! "Make sure you have a good meal before you go donate blood next time" they told me! No comment.

Some people have their blood pressure drop because of fear or just the needle stick, and sometimes because of the blood removed. YEs as you said be very well-hydrated and dirnk a lot of water before you go.
